Is it wise to eat Rice?

The trouble with always trying to preserve the health of the body is that it is so difficult to do without destroying the health of the mind. ~G.K. Chesterton

Quick Facts:

On an average, a man burns 2500 calories per day.
On an average, a women burns 2000 calories per day.
1 pound of weight on the body is made up of 3500 calories.
1 Kg of weight on the body is made up of 1500 calories.
1 Kg of wheat/rice has 3500 calories.

To reduce weight, the calorie intake per day should be less than the calories burnt. And to reduce 1 Kg of weight in 5 days, we have to reduce our intake to less than 2500 calories per day (for men). Its like you are given 2500 dollars per day and you have to spend as little as you can. The more you save, the healthy you are. The best way to reduce the calorie intake is by replacing rice with pulkas because you save in bulk without forgoing essential nutrients.

A simple calculation:

1 Kg of wheat/rice = 3500 calories.
1 Kg of rice = 7 glasses or rice.
Each glass of rice is 500 calories.
So, 2 glasses of rice per day is equivalent to consuming 1000 calories per day.

70 pulkas/chapathis can be made from 1 Kg of wheat.
Each pulka is 3500/70 = 50 Calories.
So, eating 8 pulka a day adds up to 400 Calories.

You save 600 calories per day by eating 8 pulka instead of rice and even more, if you eat lesser number of pulka.

Shifting the diet from rice to pulkas might not be easy. Complementing your lunch/dinner with some juice fills you and makes the transition easier.

Assuming that our daily intake is 2600 calories per day initially, the transition from rice to pulkas reduces the calorie intake to 2000 calories which is 500 calories lesser than the calories burnt per day. So we will reduce our weight by 1 kg in 3 days and 10 kg if we continue it for a month. Isn't it easy ?

Note: Chapathi has more calories in it due to the oil. 8 Chapathi has 1000 calories. If we reduce the number of chapathi intake, the quantity might not be sufficient.
